Club Facilities

Abbeydale has 4 new indoor courts and 4 newly resurfaced outdoor courts that cater for all standards of play, all year round.

Outdoors, there are 4 newly resurfaced all weather courts, one of which is floodlit, plus inside we have 4 covered courts to ensure rain never stops play !!

Abbeydale boasts the only 2 carpet indoor courts in Yorkshire, overlooked by a glazed viewing gallery in the tennis clubhouse; plus 2 more indoor courts in a futuristic air dome, which are surfaced in an acrylic surface, similar to the surface at the US Open. The Club has a purpose built KIDS ZONE which incorporates a mini tennis red court and practice wall enclosed in a safe & secure environment for kids of all ages.

Inside the redeveloped modern tennis clubhouse, members are greeted by one of our friendly reception team, who man the reception desk from 9am - 11pm for 7 days a week, helping with all your tennis needs.

Once through reception, the clubhouse incorporates the members' lounge, café, licensed bar, roof terrace patio & Tennis Pro Shop.

Next to the indoor courts are the modern large changing facilities including benched changing area, showers & toilets.

Abbeydale has ensured that The Tennis Club is fully accessible for people with any disabilities and has installed a lift to the indoor courts, ramps to the outdoor courts and a separate disabled shower and toilet facility.

Future Development

Later this year, we are hoping to be able to add the spiral staircase to enable access to the roof terrace and associated balcony works, plus to install some heating to the air dome before the winter frosts start biting in there !!
