Covid - 19 Local Lockdown Update of 24/10/20
As you are aware, this morning Sheffield entered the highest level of alert for Covid 19 Local Restrictions and naturally there are a few changes to our procedures which we need to make you aware of.
We also wanted to make members aware that we have also challenged Sheffield City Council regarding their U Turn yesterday that now allows Gyms to run indoor fitness sessions in small areas, but still prevents Indoor Group Tennis / Fitness Coaching classes in a 12,500sq foot building.
We have been promised a quick response as to whether Adult Indoor Group Tennis Coaching will be permitted or still prevented and we will obviously contact members if it is allowed.
It does however, seem certain that Singles and Doubles will remain on the prevented list while we are in either Tier 2 or Tier 3 of Local Lockdown restrictions.
The Tier Three changes that we have enforced from this morning, on top of the Tier Two are below.
- Club Bar is now shut and we can’t serve alcohol.
- Sitting at Indoor tables - Members of the same household or Social Bubble
- Outdoor Seating - Rule of 6 applies, stay socially distanced and don’t mingle after tennis.
- Face Coverings at all time in The Clubhouse unless drinking
Other News:- We are aware of the importance of the outdoor courts in these unusual times and therefore:-
Outdoor Courts 5, 6, 7 and 8 were all Moss Treated this week and will be pressure washed next week in rotation.
Work on the Gazebo ( outdoor seating area ) will start hopefully within the next 10 days
We've had quotes for temporary floodlights on one or more of the top courts and exploring planning conditions
