Abbeydale Tennis Club is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children, young people and adults.

We recognise our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and are committed to ensuring that tennis is a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The club follows the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Safe to Play Safeguarding Standards and has adopted safeguarding policies and procedures that are consistent with LTA guidance.

Safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone involved in the club.

Safeguarding in Practice

Abbeydale Tennis Club works closely with Abbeydale Tennis Academy to ensure that safeguarding standards are maintained across all tennis activities.

Key safeguarding practices include:

• All coaching delivered by LTA qualified and accredited coaches
• Safe recruitment procedures followed for staff and volunteers
• DBS checks where appropriate
• Safeguarding training for relevant staff and volunteers
• Safeguarding policies reviewed regularly by the club committee
• Safeguarding noticeboard displayed in the clubhouse
• Reporting procedures clearly displayed around the venue
