Re:-    Plan B: Changes to restrictions at Abbeydale Tennis Club

Good Evening,

Re:-    Plan B: Changes to restrictions at Abbeydale Tennis Club

As you will no doubt have heard from The Prime Minister last night England will move to ‘Plan B’ of the COVID-19 Autumn/Winter Plan,  in response to the risks of the Omicron variant ( B.1.1.529 )

At the time of writing, there has been no update by Sport England or The Lawn Tennis Association, but we felt we ought to update our members to the best of our ability with information we have been given by UK Gov.

UK GOV.    From Friday 10th December, face coverings will be legally required in most public indoor venue.

- It is our interpretation that members and staff should wear mask coverings upon entering The Club premises and when moving around The Clubhouse. The exception to the face covering rule is when members / guests are drinking or eating ( in line with the Hospitality Covid rules. )

UK GOV.    Turn people with COVID-19 symptoms away. Staff members, customers and participants who have symptoms of COVID-19 ( a new, persistent cough; a high temperature; or loses/has changes to their sense of taste or smell) should self-isolate and take a PCR test, even if these symptoms are mild.

- Firstly please don’t visit The Club if you have any of the above symptoms and risk passing Covid onto other members. Secondly, The Club reserves the right to turn people away if they are displaying symptoms.

Exercise & Sport -  There are currently no restrictions on people taking exercise, so members are allowed to play both tennis indoors and outdoors, individually or in groups. Please remember to wear Face Coverings as you move from the tennis courts, to other areas of The Club.

As our Governing Bodies update their Covid advice online, we will issue members with any further restrictions.
